Golden Knights Add Smith and Dowd at 2026 Trade Deadline
Ahead of the trade deadline, the Golden Knights acquired forwards Cole Smith and Nic Dowd. It was a particularly slow trade deadline week, with March 6 having the least amount of moves since 2021 (20 total trades moved 33 players on March 6).
On March 3, the Golden Knights traded for Cole Smith with the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Christoffer Sedoff and a third-round pick in the 2028 NHL Entry Draft.
On March 5, the Vegas Golden Knights acquired forward Nic Dowd from the Washington Capitals in exchange for goaltender Jesper Vikman, a third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft, and a second-round pick in the 2029 NHL Entry Draft.
Earlier in the year, on Jan. 18, the Golden Knights acquired defenseman Rasmus Andersson from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Zach Whitecloud, prospect Abram Wiebe, a conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft, and a conditional second-round pick in the 2028 NHL Entry Draft.
The Golden Knights’ lineup is set for the rest of the season, as they look to make a postseason run.
