Heart Of Gold Community Three Stars Of The Week: Week 3

The Vegas Golden Knights have announced the recipients of their Heart Of Gold Community Three Stars Of The Week initiative for the week of April 20. This program recognizes extraordinary individuals throughout Nevada who are finding ways to make a difference during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Every week, community members can click here to nominate someone they know who is making a difference in the community. Nominations for the week will be accepted until that Thursday at 10 a.m. A panel of judges from the Vegas Golden Knights will review all submissions and the three outstanding Nevadans will be recognized on Fridays through the team's social platforms. Individuals nominated must live in Nevada.

Karly Turner

Celebrations by Karly is providing free balloon creations to kids across the valley for their birthdays. She is spending her days doing special deliveries and her evenings creating these masterpieces. At a time when many people are down, Karly is spreading joy, love and hope.  She's delivered her creations to several kids from in the Clark County School District and her creations make their day.

Justin Blum

Justin created the campaign "Feed the Frontline" to support local restaurants. To date he has raised $12,641 which will provide 3,500 hot meals to hospitals and first responders around the community.

Alyssa White

She is an outstanding fourth grade teacher and has been a shining light all year for her school, especially now that educating is taking place online. Since the first day of the shutdown, she has gone above and beyond to not just contact her students but connect with them. She has daily times set for her students to just talk, conducts full staff trainings, is available day and night to staff and students, went to school to set up a message on our fence for students and dropped off "survival kits" for administrators.
