Auckland FC Record-Breaking Inaugural Season!
Despite Auckland FC falling 2-0 in their second leg of the Semi-Final against Melbourne Victory. The team had a record-breaking inaugural season. On October 18, 2024 the team kicked off the very beginning of an action-packed season.
The team won their first six matches in a row to break a 47-year-old record for the best start by a new club in Australian top-flight history.
Auckland FC created an average crowd of 18,000 and around 250,000 fans through the gate to have the best average gate in A-League Men.
It took 532 minutes into the season for the team to concede a goal which was the longest time before conceding a first goal in Australian’s Men’s national league history.
The team finished top of the league and secured the Premiers Plate. The club became the fastest in A-League history to score 50 goals in a season, set records for unbeaten streaks and clean sheets, and built an identity that fans embraced from the start.
The team was announced an expansion team on November 21, 2023 and officially launched ahead of the 2024-25 season.
