US-Canada Rivalry Series Game ๐Ÿ’

With the Las Vegas valley establishing itself as the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, itโ€™s only fitting that one of the greatest rivalries in sports made its way to the area. This past December, the national womenโ€™s hockey teams representing the United States and Canada met at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson.

The United States and Canada have been the two superpowers in womenโ€™s hockey and in six of seven Olympic Winter Games, since the sport was introduced in 1998, these two have battled in the gold-medal game. USA Hockey and Hockey Canada introduced the Rivalry Series in 2018 to extend these great games beyond the confines of World Championships and Olympics. Cities across North America have been able to enjoy these games, including stops at NHL arenas in Detroit, Anaheim, Vancouver, Seattle, and Los Angeles.

Before the rivalry match-up, the Golden Knights hosted the women of USA Hockey at The Fortress to witness Vegas take on the Boston Bruins. Star defensive player and gold medal winner, Cayla Barnes cranked the siren and joined Daren Millard at the desk for a few questions before puck-drop.

On December 15, USA and Canada faced off at The Dollar Loan Center for a thrilling contest. While the women battled in Henderson the Golden Knights were on the road in Chicago. Phil Kessel of Vegas scored against the Blackhawks to give the Golden Knights a 3-0 advantage then less than a minute later, his sister Amanda scored for Team USA.
