Playoff Cavalcade! VGK Fans Send Team Off Right
More than 500 cars filled the parking lots behind City National Arena as fans remained socially distant to cheer on the Golden Knights as they departed for the airport. As the team left for Edmonton for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, fans decorated their cars, donned their jerseys and let out “Go Knights Go!” chants for their favorite squad.
The fan above, Albert Ronquillo, tranformed his Mustang into a VGK rally car with decorations he said will show the team what kind of passion the fanbase has.
“It was a lot of fun doing this. I saw on Facebook that this was happening and I just started thinking about this,” Ronquillo said. “I pulled out my box of supplies, went to the store to get a few things and made it look cool to send these guys off with some love.”
Ronquillo will be among the countless Golden Knights fans watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs from home sporting all the VGK gear he’s collected since day one.
