Gary Lawless Joins Foley Food And Wine Society For Virtual Happy Hour
Amidst the NHL pause some of VGK’s front office staff is taking the opportunity to expand their knowledge in other areas of interest to them. For VGK Insider Gary Lawless that means taking a crash course in wine tasting from the experts at the Foley Food and Wine Society. Lindsey Jessup, Director of Guest Experiences and Tasting Rooms at Foley Family Wines hosted Lawless, who noted that this was the first time he had ever been asked to drink on the job.
Lawless had the opportunity to sample two pinot noirs from the FFW portfolio: the 2018 Four Graces Pinot Noir and the 2016 Chalone Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir.
Throughout the happy hour Jessup provided some insight into what makes each varietal so unique and some tips and tricks for those looking to expand their own portfolio, noting that it doesn’t take a big budget or vast knowledge of winemaking. “Honestly, however you like to enjoy wine is the right way to enjoy it,” said Jessup. “If it’s out of a dixie cup and paired with a big juicy burger that is the right way to do it and it’s the right pairing.”
