Engelland Family is Vegas Born

In 2003, defenseman Deryk Engelland played for the ECHL Las Vegas Wranglers when he started to call Las Vegas home. That same year he met his wife Melissa, who was attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas to get her Master’s degree. From then on, it was a match made in heaven aka VEGAS!

With Deryk being a professional hockey player, his career took him all over North America but he and Melissa always came back home to Vegas for the off-season. The Engelland family received the best when Deryk Engelland was drafted Vegas Golden Knights in their inaugural season. It was a dream come true for the Engellands with their marriage starting in Las Vegas, their two sons were born in Las Vegas and then him playing for the Golden Knights.

The Engelland Family is the real definition of Vegas Born.

After the expansion draft in 2017, Deryk Engelland would put on the Golden Knights jersey for the first time and take a tour with his new teammates around town. One of the main stops was in front of the beautiful ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign where he posed for a picture with his eldest son, Cash.
